Pet Missing... Las Vegas Nevada

TODAY: one of my cats has gone missing

About 7 years back a neighbor up the street moved away and left his and his daughters cats behind....at the time Las Vegas was in a terrible place, foreclosures were abundant and it was raining foreclosure pets....so sad.....anyway, we adopted his two adorable cats, got them neutered and micro chipped.... neither one of them were having anything to do with staying in doors, both of them were used to walking around the cul-de-sac up the street from us where they used to live, the neighbors that have been around for awhile and even most of the new ones, know who they are and have been nice to them and most of them know that they are my kids, now........ I didn't like them being outdoor pets, it truly bothered me, but, at the time, I wasn't wanting to traumatize them anymore than they already were.....so I set up patio tents in the front and back, both tents had a bunny hutch under it, with 20degree sleeping bags in winter and sheets in summer, both have a beautiful set up of outdoor furniture, cat food and water feeders and liter.....we did the best we could......everything had been going great... for 7 years going great... and then on September 20th, 2014 one of them went missing....it was not unusual for him not to come home for a 24 hour period, even 48 hours from time to time, but by day 3 I was in a  panic..... I contacted the animal shelters to make sure he wasn't picked up hurt or killed, I went to the animal shelters to make sure he wasn't there....but no luck......every night since, I walk the neighborhood calling his name "Dobi.........Dobi", but nothing...... now Tigger (the other one, that doesn't really leave our home to much) is showing signs of depression and missing Dobi, too.... he now is leaving the house, regularly, I think to go look for Dobi, I don't know what to do.............It's been 2 weeks, tomorrow, since Dobi went missing, and I have to say, I'm just devastated....I think someone has stollen him and is keeping him locked up inside..........I am doing my best not to get angry, I know that brings nothing good......right now, all I can do is pray that who ever has him is being good to him and when Dobi is ready to leave, I pray they let him go, so he can make his way back home to us.......I know that putting out positive energies and good thoughts are a much better way to deal with the sadness of him being gone, it also gives me a since of "more hope" that he will find his way home soon......If I could redo 7 years ago, I would have worked harder to train my new kids (cats) to stay inside.........I won't make that mistake again......

In close: Typically, in life, there are "no redos", so try you best to get it right the first time, that way you can know "you did your best" and there will be no regret

Have a beautiful weekend

Wellness & Health - GINA GINA

TODAY: The lymph system and cleansing it

I have had breast cancer and my husband has had colon cancer... I had no lymph nodes with cancer, he had 1 of 27 lymph nodes come back with cancer....we both believed to help insure us not being in this situation again,  we needed to strengthen our lymph system, get it moving and cleanse and detoxify our bodies, we also believe that strengthening the lymph system was a great way to help prevent many diseases, and would also strengthen our immune systems, to help protect from the return of cancer.....

In researching for this blog, I read many articles regarding strengthening the lymphatic system.....and then I stumbled upon and read this article by Michelle Schoffro Cook , and to be honest, I could not have put it in better words, so I didn't.....hope you get as much out of this read, as I did....

a big thank you to: care2.com/greenliving and their online information about boosting your lymph system...
http://www.care2.com/greenliving/11-ways-to-boost-your-lymphatic-system-for-great-health

11 Ways to Boost Your Lymphatic System for Great Health
The lymphatic (or lymph system) is a system made up of glands, lymph nodes, the spleen, thymus gland and tonsils. It bathes our body’s cells and carries the body’s cellular sewage away from the tissues to the blood, where it can be filtered by two of the body’s main detoxification organs: the liver and kidneys. This sewage is made up of the byproducts of our bodily processes, over-the-counter and prescription drugs, illicit drugs, cigarette toxins, other airborne pollutants, food additives, pesticides and other toxins.
The Fat Flush Plan author Ann Louise Gittleman, PhD, estimates that 80 percent of women have sluggish lymphatic systems and that getting them flowing smoothly is the key to easy weight loss and improved feelings of well-being.
If you are suffering from injuries, excess weight or cellulite, or pain disorders like arthritis, bursitis, headaches or others, a sluggish lymphatic system may be playing a role.  Here are 11 ways you can get your lymph flowing smoothly.
1.  Breathe deeply. Our bodies have three times more lymph fluid than blood, yet no organ to pump it. Your lymph system relies on the pumping action of deep breathing to help it transport toxins into the blood before they are detoxified by your liver. So breathe in that sweet smell of healing oxygen. Breathe out toxins.
2.  Get movingExercise also ensures the lymph system flows properly. The best kind is rebounding on a mini trampoline, which can dramatically improve lymph flow, but stretching and aerobic exercise also work well.
3.  Drink plenty of water. Without adequate water, lymph fluid cannot flow properly. To help ensure the water is readily absorbed by your cells, I frequently add some fresh lemon juice or oxygen or pH drops.
4.  Forget the soda, trash the neon-colored sports drinks, and drop the fruit “juices” that are more sugar than fruit. These sugar-, color- and preservative-laden beverages add to the already overburdened workload your lymph system must handle.
5.  Eat more raw fruit on an empty stomach. The enzymes and acids in fruit are powerful lymph cleansers. Eat them on an empty stomach for best digestion and maximum lymph-cleansing benefits. Most fruits are digested within 30 minutes or so and quickly help you feel better.
6.  Eat plenty of green vegetables to get adequate chlorophyll to help purify your blood and lymph.

7.  Eat raw, unsalted nuts and seeds to power up your lymph with adequate fatty acids. Choose from walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, macadamias, Brazil nuts, flaxseeds, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds.
8.  Add a few lymph-boosting herbal teas to your day, such as astragalus, echinacea, goldenseal, pokeroot or wild indigo root tea. Consult an herbalist or natural medicine specialist before combining two or more herbs or if you’re taking any medications or suffer from any serious health conditions. Avoid using herbs while pregnant or lactating and avoid long-term use of any herb without first consulting a qualified professional.
9.  Dry skin brush before showering. Use a natural bristle brush. Brush your dry skin in circular motions upward from the feet to the torso and from the fingers to the chest. You want to work in the same direction as your lymph flows—toward the heart.
10.  Alternate hot and cold showers for several minutes. The heat dilates the blood vessels and the cold causes them to contract. Avoid this type of therapy if you have a heart or blood pressure condition or if you are pregnant.
11.  Get a gentle massageStudies show that a gentle massage can push up to 78 percent of stagnant lymph back into circulation. Massage frees trapped toxins. You can also try a lymph drainage massage. It is a special form of massage that specifically targets lymph flow in the body. Whatever type of massage you choose, make sure it is gentle. Too much pressure may feel good on the muscles, but it doesn’t have the same lymph-stimulating effects.
There are countless benefits of getting your lymphatic system moving more efficiently, including more energy, less pain, and improved detoxification.  Adapted from Weekend Wonder Detox by Michelle Schoffro Cook.
Again, thank you Michelle Schoffro Cook for the great information,

Have a beautiful night,

WELLNESS and You

Today: Our "VERY IMPORTANT" Skin

Did you know the largest organ of our body is our "Skin".  It protects us against pathogens, regulates our body temperature between hot and cold, protects our inner organs. Our skin is waterproof, so essential nutrients are not washed out, and is a natural pathway for Vitamin D, it detoxifies the body thru perspiration and protects against viruses and bacterias. Our skin has been called "the third kidney" because it is so important to eliminating waste and toxins from our bodies.

Skin is a "living organism"........so we need to nourish it. One square inch of human skin consists of 19,500,000 cells, 60,000 melanocytes (pigment), 90 oil glands, 19 feet of blood vessels, 650 sweat glands,  more than 1,000 nerve endings and19,000 sensory cells(*). Our skin is a magnificent organ that needs to be attended to. So now maybe you'll agree that it is NOT superficial to care so much about what our skin looks like. Treat your skin good, use ingredients like "all natural botanicals" and if scented, make sure it is scented with pure essential oils.  Read labels and choose good products that will address the real health of you and your skin.

From the beginning of the day, to the end of the evening, incorporate skin products that will nourish your skin on a cellular level. Make sure the products you choose are skin-permeable and can deliver its nutrients deep into the dermis (not all products do!!!). Make sure the products you choose will help you achieve the best results. The absorption rate of any product you use depends on the "molecule size" and its "solubility" (know your product, or, buy from reputable mixologists or aromatherapists....I carry in my boutique "Madlyn Rose" and "Malie" they're awesome)

Dry Brushing your skin is a great way to detoxify (daily). Dry Brushing (DB) helps clean out the lymph system (considered part of our immune system, detoxification occurs first through the lymph, we have more lymph than we do blood). DB helps us to shed dead skin cells, improving skin texture and cell renewal. It strengthens the immune system by stimulating the lymph vessels to drain toxins. DB  tightens skin by increasing blood flow, tones muscles by stimulating nerve endings, causing muscle fibers to activate and move. It helps stimulate circulation by allowing our skin to breath (ridding it of dead skin cells).

Our Skin needs to be cleaned, balanced and given lots of nutrition, daily........... don't skimp on the products you put onto your skin.  Remember, our skin is the "last" to receive the nutrients we ingest, however, it is the "first" to show an imbalance or deficiency.

In close, healthy skin will contribute to your overall  body health, so treat it good:)

GINA GINA: Falling off the horse

TODAY: just a few words

It is not uncommon in our journey through life that we fall off the horse. It is not the falling that matters, it is the picking yourself up and getting back on the horse, that matters. The next time you fall off, take a good look around where you're at... really can't see too much from down there, can you? ...No matter how hard the climb is, no matter how tired you are, make that extra effort to get back up and on the horse.....the view of your surroundings of life will be much better from up there....and being able to see the world, all the way around you, will help to ensure the next steps you take, are good ones......

Have a beautiful day and weekend........

GINA GINA: what a beautiful day

TODAY: Healing wounds with Essential Oils

Weather you have a cut, scrap, scratch, puncture or insect bite, there is Essential Oil that can help to quicken the healing process. Essential Oils contain many medicinal properties from being anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, antiseptic, to analgesic, from anti-inflammatory and antibiotic, to homeostatic (helps stop the bleeding). The properties in Essential Oils are absolutely amazing. Most of the over-the-counter products for these wounds, have petroleum products in them. The molecule of petroleum salves are too big to penetrate the skin, so they sit on top. Essential Oils, on the other hand, their molecules are small and are absorbed right into the skin, Essential Oils can even penetrate the blood brain barrier.

All Essential Oils contain MANY of the properties listed above. The following suggestions are just a few applications for the named Essential Oil:

Antibiotic:
Lemon, Oregano, Melaleuca

Disinfecting an abrasion (sore, cut, wound, bite):
Melaleuca, Clove, Rosemary, Oregano, Thyme

Infected cuts and wounds:
Clove, Myrrh, Lavender

Scarring:
Helichrysum, Lavender, Geranium (different type of scars, different essential oil)

Stop Bleeding (hemostatic oils (help clot blood)):
Rose, Helichrysum, Geranium, Lemon

Pain Relief:
Lavender, Marjoram, Wintergreen, Sandalwood

*
**

Lavender and Melaleuca are two of the best essential oils for all around wound healing.

This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the beneficial powers and properties of Essential Oils. It is my belief that there is an Essential Oil out there for almost every ailment known to mankind. Next time you're in need try one of these instead of an "over the counter"ointment, it's a healthier way to heal.

Have a beautiful evening.........

*CAUTIONif you have any concerns or questions, please seek professional medical advice. ALSO: as always, Essential Oils are extremely powerful, a very small amount goes a long way, dilute when necessary, and use with extreme care and caution.

GINA GINA - Tuesday, summer feels like it's here

TODAY: Healing Stones & Crystals

It is said you can place crystals and certain gemstones on specific points of your body to bring relief. You can use specific color crystals for chakra healing and elevate your chi (life-energy), by placing the stones on the seven major chakra points. According to folklore, many gemstones are thought to have magical and mystical powers, and crystals have had a long tradition of being used for crystal healing. Each gemstone or crystal has its own unique internal structure which resonates at a certain frequency. The healing properties are said to be derived from this resonance. Gemstone and Crystal healing therapy is a non-invasive form of alternative healing.  These therapies work holistically to harmonize your mind, body and soul, helping us to have a feeling of wellness, neutralizing negativity, elevating our mood, helping us to feel whole again.

few stones and their healing powers:
Amber: warms the soul, used for stress relieving and calming/found in Central America, the Caribbean and The Baltics
Amethyst: this is a primary healing stone, said to bring peace, balance and inner strength/found in Brazil, India and No. and So. America
Citrine: calming and relaxing, said to promote success and abundance/found in No. and So. America
Emerald: helps with insight and ability to see good in others/found in Brazil, Columbia and India
Garnet: helps you to concentrate on the details of life, promotes love and passion/found in Central Europe, Russia, Africa and the U.S.
Hematite: strengthens the blood and improves circulation/found in Australia, Brazil and U.S.
Jade: this is a stone of wisdom and prosperity/found in China and U.S.
Lapis: promotes self confidence, alleviate depression and insomnia/found in Central Asia and Pakistan
Onyx: super root chakra stone, brings about spiritual awareness, help overcome negative feelings/found in Brazil, Mexico and U.S.
Peridot: heart chakra, helps you to focus on the positive, promotes abundance and prosperity/found in Burma the the U.S.
Ruby: a protector of health, wealth and increase happiness/found in Thailand
Topaz: said to be one of the most powerful stones, helps to balance emotions, provide protection from greed, prevent procrastination/found in Brazil and Nigeria
Turquoise: this is a healing and balancing stone, considered to be a lucky stone, relief from anger/found in the southwest U.S. and Iran
Quartz: an all around healing stone, brings good luck/found in Brazil and the U.S.

There are no studies proving the therapeutic value of gemstone or crystal healing, however, they remain widely used in holistic, naturopathic, and spiritual settings. Many of these stones are used at New Age health clinics, health spas, in massage therapy and Reiki. Healing crystals and gemstones are beautiful and are used to create a relaxed atmosphere. They are believed to promote peace and tranquility.

In close:
there are so many books and articles out there, one could get lost for days and days reading about the healing properties of crystals and gemstones.  Personally, I believe because everything vibrates at a specific frequency, that using crystals or gemstones to help heal, bring about abundance and many other things, is not far fetched.

be well and have a beautiful day...

GINA GINA - 108 degrees this weekend, already

TODAY: a few words of encouragement

Dream your dreams and make them big, don't be afraid to ask of the world........ it is only when we put out that thought, that dream, that wish, that the world can reciprocate to us. If we don't ask, then we can't receive. The power of a thought, dream or wish coming true, lies within ourselves. Be bold, speak up and then don't be too surprised when it all comes to fruition.

Have a beautiful evening.......

WELLNESS and you.....Wednesday, cloudy and beautiful

TODAY: Body Alkaline, for spring, for life

Spring is here and what better time to start getting mentally and physically in shape for the summer ahead. While were are doing that, might as well work on getting our body alkaline. We live with typically acidic insides, this is unhealthy and stressful on our internal organs. Living with an acidic body opens us up to disease and illness, getting our bodies alkaline can help us in living a balanced healthy lifestyle.

There are many ways to get alkaline, these are just a few:

*Drink water with a 1/2 fresh squeezed lemon. Lemon itself is acidic, however, in the body it becomes alkaline and is a fabulous way to quench you thirst, too.......

*Go outside in the evening or the morning, listen to the world as you take deep breaths,
.........5 counts in, feel the air fill up the lungs and then all the way into the lower belly,
.........hold for 3 counts
.........5 counts out, as you exhale, push out all of the air, from the lower belly and up thru the lungs
.........Repeat at least 10 times
.........while you do this, imagine when you breath in your entire body filling up with all that is good, into every cell inside you, as you hold your breath imagine the pure air healing everything inside of you, then as you exhale imagine releasing, from every cell, all the that is not good..... release it completely...

*Take a brisk walk, or get some exercise

*eat your veggies, dark greens especially

In close: there are many more ways to alkaline our bodies, pick one that resonates with you and practice it on a daily basis (if it resonates with you, then you will be more likely to do it regularly)........ the benefits of getting your body alkaline are fabulous, your skin and eyes and health in general will appreciate it.

Make it a beautiful evening......

GINA GINA - Friday.........have a great Friday night

TODAY:  Deep Breathing

Pay attention to the way you are breathing, right now...... are you breathing deep enough?????
Most of us are shallow breathers......... and because society loves a flat stomach, most of us walk around holding our stomachs in, this in turn causes us to shallow breath and not allow the air to reach fully into your chest, lungs and down deep into the lower belly.........  Shallow breathing has an adverse affect on our health..... it allows the build up of stress and can contribute to anxiety and depression. When emotions run high and your feeling out of sorts, you are also most likely to shallow breath at this time (when you just need a few deep breaths). Deep breathing fresh air is also a way to alkaline your body.

Deep breathing could be one of the simplest way to improve your health. You can reclaim your physical and mental health by practicing deep breathing exercises. They will help you to overcome negative emotions and possibly even physical pain. Deep breathing is a trade of incoming oxygen for the outgoing carbon dioxide.........

The benefits of deep breathing are awesome:
Your body will release up to 70% of its toxins through breathing. Deep breathing is a way to oxygenate the brain, thus releasing tension, relaxing the mind and body, bringing about clarity. It can help strengthen the immune system, increase digestion and assimilation of food, strengthens the lungs and makes the heart stronger. Deep breathing is also oxygenating all of the cells in your body, it can increase muscle, improve posture and improve cellular regeneration. You can elevate your mood, increase your energy level and improve your stamina. Deep breathing can also assist you in weight control. The process of deep breathing helps increase the circulation of the lymphatic fluid which can speed up recovery after an illness. Your nervous system is calmer, your physical appearance is better and emotionally you will feel better. The process of deep breathing will help you to lower your blood pressure and release endorphins, which improves the feeling of well-being.

How to Deep Breath:
Deep breathing, when done properly, is when you breathe deeply into your abdomen (not just your chest). The exercises should be slow, rhythmic, deep, in through the nose and out through the mouth. You can do the exercise standing or lying down, make sure you allow yourself to be free from all other distractions and relax:

1. inhale through the nose, filling your chest and then expanding the breath into your belly, count to 5 on the inhale. Feel the goodness of the oxygen entering into every cell in your body, as you breath in
2. hold the breath for a count of 3
3. exhale through your mouth, counting slowly to 5, exhaling from your lower belly, through your lungs, all the way up and out, feel your entire body releasing the old energy, releasing any negative feelings and thoughts, too
4. repeat several times, and even several times a day (you can not deep breathe enough)

In close:
Deep breathing should be a practice we all indulge in. You can do it in bed, at your desk at work, on a walk, just about anytime, anywhere. Try to create a routine for yourself and practice deep breathing daily. The benefits are amazing and it's free.

Deeply breathe in the wonders of this beautiful world and enjoy.........

GINA GINA on - Wednesday and it is beautiful, hopes it's beautiful where ever your at, too

TODAY: "a second" "a deep breath" and then just "let it go"

I know most of us would like to live, everyday, in a positive way.......... and I believe we can. I try to, every morning, when I wake up, every night, when I go to bed and several times during the day, to take a few minutes (or even seconds) for positive affirmation, raising my own vibration of energy. This doesn't mean I will never be bothered by anything, or never get upset, but when times are trying or difficult, being able to take a deep breath and remember I am the maker of my own space, knowing that the thoughts I think, the words I say, will be the energy that surrounds me and  I'll have to live with, definitely makes it easier to not let those moments get to me (not for long, anyhow)..... instead I make a concentrated effort to "just let it go" and before I know it everything seems to be alright, again.

One night, a couple of months ago, there was a shooting, right here, barely 50 yards from the front door to my "Positive Living" boutique....... a 26 year old man was shot in a road rage incident and later died at the hospital. He had 2 kids in the back seat when it happened.......... I wonder if the shooter (who, I don't believe has been caught, yet) new the kids were there and would he have even cared? It's so sad those kids will now have to grow up without a father, and over what???  Things like this happen everyday, everywhere, but they don't have to. This world is big enough for all of us to live in and in a positive way. If someone makes you angry or does something that makes you want to lose you temper, remember "you are your own keeper", don't let their actions or misdeeds determine the energy field that will surround you and you'll have to live in. Give yourself the second and take a deep breath and then just "let it go", what ever it is...........imagine if the gunman, who got so ticked off at "something???", and then ultimately killed a young man, imagine if he had "JUST LET IT GO", those kids would still have their father and the gunman would not now be a murderer.

So remember the next time life (someone or something) wants to get to you, give yourself "that second" to remember, then take the "deep breath",  and then "just let it go"............ there is nothing more important than keeping yourself in check and maintaining your positive energy within........... positive living is right here for anyone to have.......... everyday.......... all day......... all we have to do is "make it so".

Have an awesome evening, do something kind for a stranger (it feels good)........

Tuesday.......it feels like summer

TODAY: a few words.........a positive affirmation

If I think and then it's so, then I will only think positive thoughts
If the energy around me is the same energy I put out, then I will only put out positive energy

We are the deciders of our own lives.......... don't wait for someone else to lift you up, raise your own vibration and lift yourself up.........

We have choices, try to make them good ones

Have a beautiful evening

Wellness - Thursday...Happy May 1st

TODAY:  Energy Cleansing

Energy Cleansing is something you can do for yourself or your environment (home, office). Today I am going to discuss Energy Cleansing of yourself. The act of cleansing is not about fixing or changing anything. Energy, in general, wants to move about, but if we feel stressed or traumatized, most of us have the tendency to emotionally tighten up, trapping emotional energy inside of us, energy that would otherwise naturally wants to be released. When we trap these emotions on the inside, we are fixing those energies to our own energy field. In some way, to some degree, we all do this. We hold onto thoughts, perceptions or misconceptions, either consciously or unconsciously. In order to release these energies, we need to purposefully do so. We need to become aware of what it is we are holding onto and why, we need to to this consciously. Once we recognize the negative energy within, it is quite easy to then give it up, as a matter of fact it will become almost automatic. Once we have determined what the disturbing feelings lie within, we can then release them and replace them with positve thoughts of peace, tranquility, love and worthiness. This energy cleansing time is one that you should be kind and gentle with yourself, through, you can start with the act of forgiveness from within, be present in unconditional love of who you are and enjoy the peace and calm that remains. Unwind those beliefs of limitation in their early stages, before they have manifested in your physical body. Those manifestations, if gone uncleared and uncleansed, can lead to disease (dis - ease), an imbalance of your emotions and many other debilitating problems. The more you can understand and witness your own despair, discomfort or negative feelings, the quicker they will be released from you. It is only in the recognition of these feelings that we are able to let them go and thus cleanse our own energy. Have you ever seen someone that looks like they don't have a problem in the world, well, it's not because they don't have any problems, it's probably because they let things go, they don't hold the stresses and circumstances of life, within. You can do this to, with effort and allowing the beauty of life to fill you, replacing negative emotions or long held negative beliefs with the thought of "I am loved", "I am worthy",  "I forgive", you are allowing your mind and soul to heal. Opening your heart and thoughts to the truth of who you are, you can experience trust and unconditional love of yourself, your energy will be cleansed.

There are many ways to energy cleanse, it's best to be alone without distraction, have a special place that is not cluttered with lots of things (a cluttered space is a cluttered mind), create a prayer and say it, this will allow you to settle into the cleanse and then do things like: chanting or using a mantra; listening to healing music and allowing the vibrations to overtake your being; burning incense cleanses the air you breathe while meditating (use an all natural incense or sage). When you are in your special place acknowledge the negative energies you've been holding onto and then let them go.

In close: The process of Energy Cleansing will get easier every time you do it. The more you Energy Cleanse, purposefully, the less negative energies will you hold onto, the less negative energies you have within, the more abundant and beautiful your life will be.

Have a blessed evening........

GINA GINA - Tuesday and windy

Today:  Alkaline your body

I've heard that you can increase your energy,  keep off extra pounds, slow down the aging process, sleep better and even lower your risk for disease, such as arthritis and cancer........... How? .......... By keeping your body "alkaline"............ so much of the food and beverages we consume are highly acidic, from artificial sweeteners, to coffee, to processed foods and the list goes on and on.

If we want to take control and get more alkaline, there are many ways to do it: get more veggies into your diet, add spices like cinnamon (which is wonderful alkalizing spice) or ginger, lay off the desserts and sodas (as a matter of fact lay off the sugar laden foods), eat unsalted almonds, try going meat free for just a day (there is acid residue left behind during the metabolism of meat), take a walk, get outside and breath some fresh air. These are all good ways and there are dozens of others but the ONE I want to talk about today is adding "Fresh Lemons" to your daily diet.

Lemons..... it sounds like it would be an acidic food, and on their own they are, but inside the body, when they metabolized, they are alkaline. Lemon water can do many things to improve ones health. Start your day with a large glass of water (warm preferably) and add to it a 1/2 freshly squeezed lemon. It's incredibly simple and the benefits are simply amazing. Lemon water not only works to PH balance (alkaline) your body, but it will boost you immune system, they are high in Vitamin C and potassium (Vitamin C for fighting off colds, clearer skin, decrease wrinkles and blemishes and potassium helps control blood pressure and stimulate brain and nerve function). Lemons are not only high in vitamins, but minerals, too and they aid in digestion and purging toxins from the body. Drinking lemon water can also help with weight loss, lemons are high in pectin fiber, which helps to fight off hunger cravings, also, a more alkaline diet can help you to lose weight faster.

So if you don't do anything else to Alkaline your body, at least try to drink a glass of "fresh lemon water" daily.......... your body will become more ALKALINE, and you will see and feel the difference.

have a great evening........

GINA GINA - Thursday, and so beautiful

TODAY: Coconut Oil

I know of only one beauty product that is said to be a "cure-all" (almost), that product is coconut oil. Coconut oil is not only GREAT to cook with or ingest, but it is also used for everything from moisturizing dry skin and hair, to being a wonderful breath freshener and I've even heard deodorant. Coconut Oil is antibacterial and anti fungal, when ingested it goes to work: 1) having therapeutic effects on certain brain disorders with its medium chain triglycerides 2) the way its broken down in the body, coconut oil ingested can kill harmful pathogens and fight infections of bacteria and fungus 3) it can help reduce hunger pains and is said to help reduce fat in the body (especially in the abdominal area). Coconut Oil is used topically: 1) as a body lotion 2) is great for your cuticles 3) as a makeup remover 4) and to clean your makeup brushes 5) used for stretch marks 6) as a conditioner for hair (leave in overnight for deep condition) 7) add some baking soda to it and you have a great teeth whitener 8) use as a Body Oil, Massage Oil and even shaving balm. This is just a small list of the many, many uses for Coconut Oil.

In close: Next time you go to the supermarket, buy yourself a jar of Kitchen Coconut Oil (I say kitchen, that way you can eat it as well all of the topical uses), then, go crazy experimenting on all the fabulous, different ways you can incorporate this awesome oil into your daily life.

have a wonderful evening...

Wellness - Wednesday...summer's on its way

TODAY: Sole (So-lay)

I believe it very important to ph balance the body, it's good for our health. One way to get alkaline is by taking Sole, once a day, everyday.

What is Sole:
Sole is a mixture of water and crystal salt (I use Himalayan Salt and Spring Water or a good Artesian Water. Himalayan Crystal Salt is the purest salt on Earth, it is over 250 million years old and is absolutely uncontaminated, without any toxins or pollutants)

The Salt Misunderstanding:
Salt is NOT bad for us. As a matter of fact, we cannot live without salt. The human body consists of primarily 2 elements......water and salt...... HOWEVER, regular table salt is a problem, it has been fired at 1500 degrees, chemically cleaned and processed, and left without the trace minerals and elements that naturally occur in UNREFINED salt, leaving us with inorganic salt, that our bodies will not digest, it is like poison to our bodies.
Unrefined salt (like Himalayan Salt) is unprocessed and is just like the sodium that occurs naturally in the body, with 84 natural elements and minerals....... it is essential to our daily lives and definitely good for us.

The benefits of Sole:
Sole is wonderful, I take it everyday. It helps to balance the body's pH and get rid of heavy metals. It is rich in vital minerals, improves digestion and cleans your intestines. Sole has a calming effect on the entire nervous system and can improve your quality of sleep, it helps in the extraction of excess acidity from the cells in the body, particularly the brain cells. It has Chromium, Zinc and Iodine, which will help to give you a more beautiful, clear skin and help heal skin disease by cleaning from the inside out.. It will help normalize the blood pressure and balance your blood sugar levels. Sole acts as a natural antihistamine, clearing up congestion in your sinuses and can aid in weight loss, too. It can prevent muscle cramps, varicose veins and is vital for maintaining your libido, and if taken on a daily basis, builds electrolytes inside.

So in close:
Understand your body and the importance of keeping it alkaline. Adding a teaspoon of Sole first thing in the morning, before you eat or drink anything, will help alkaline you and keep you healthy and disease free.*

To Make Himalayan Salt Sole:
In a glass jar (with NO metal rim or lid, metal de-ionizes the salt) place Himalayan Salt (chunks or grain) and fill with a good spring water. Let sit for 24 hours (to insure optimal saturation level, there should always be salt in the bottom of the jar, if it is all dissolved, add more salt). Your Sole is now ready....... take one (1) teaspoon on an empty stomach, daily (mix with water, if you need to, and drink), you will soon notice the beneficial changes.

Have a wonderful evening........ remember the thoughts we think and the words we speak, are the energies we live in......... have only good thoughts and speak only kind words.

Wellness - positive living in sin city

Dry Brushing (DB) helps clean the lymph system (considered part of our immune system, detoxification occurs first through the lymph, we have more lymph than we do blood).

GINA GINA Tuesday.....and a beautiful tuesday it is

TODAY: forgive, forget, move on, give it time and everything will be alright

........a gentleman owned a wellness center, as a matter of fact he had owned several of them, he had Reiki Masters, Ayurvedic Estheticians, Massage Therapists and many other employees of the wellness world that worked for him, at his businesses........for many years........some of them 15-20 years.........he got into some financial trouble and overnight he was shut down, he lost his businesses and all the people that worked there lost their place to practice their crafts........... he was very sad at what had happened, he felt bad about all that took place and the difficulties it was placing on all those people that worked for him...... an unfortunate thing to happen, I'm sure he didn't want to lose his businesses and livelihood, he had a family, wife and kids, so he understood how this was going to affect those around him, and like I said, he felt bad, but it was what it was and there wasn't anything he could do.......... here's the sad part........ many of those people that worked for him started lashing out at him, to his face, on the internet, what ever way they could...... mind you, we are talking about people in the "wellness industry", Reiki Masters and alike, many of them he had considered friends, most of them had been with him for years........... not one person reached out to him........... not one of those "wellness industry" people said "don't worry we'll find another place to work, it will all be okay, take care of your family, don't worry"....... not one person could find it in their heart to help a man that was down and out, even though he had given them a place to work, for many of them their entire career as these "wellness practitioners"....... and not one of them was capable of raising their own vibration, to take the high road and lift some of the weight off his back, not one...... a week after he was closed down, one week of hearing all these people lash out at him because they felt they were done wrong, he went to his favorite hiking trail and took his life......... I cried when I heard this story, I couldn't believe that not one person in his life could tell him "things will be alright, give it time, your wife loves you, your kids love you and I  thank you for giving me a place to practice my craft of wellness"........ now he's gone and those same people that lashed out at him are feeling sorry for themselves, saying things like "I guess I shouldn't have", "I wish I could have", "if I had known I would have"

Well, I don't believe in "should of, could of, would of"..... if that was the case, then why didn't they.......... if just one of those "wellness people" had practiced in real life what they were charging other people to have (reiki clarity, ayurvedic wellness etc. etc.) that man could very well still be alive. Maybe he just needed someone to say "I forgive you, let's forget this and all move on", he might then still be alive.

In close: no matter how wrongly you think someone has done you, no matter what your impression of a situation is........... remember, we are all creatures of this beautiful Earth, we all breath the same air, we all need water and food to live, and we all, from time to time, will need someone to forgive us, forget what it was that happened and just move on.......... don't be the reason, someone that is in a desperate and alone moment, takes their own life......... be the reason of hope and encouragement........ be the one that steps up and says "everything will be alright, just give it some time"

Be thoughtful and kind, always...........

GINA GINA Friday..........TGIF

TODAY: Color Therapy

Chromotherapy, or "Color Therapy" as it is more commonly known, is used in many healing practices of the alternative health community, with very little instruction, any individual can practice it themselves. Color Therapy's modality is classified as vibrational healing. The color we see is electromagnetic energy, each color of the rainbow carries its' own properties of healing and a therapist, like an individual, using Color Therapy would use techniques like visualization and verbalization of colors as their tools. Color Therapy can bring relief from a variety of problems.

Magenta: this color helps to raise ones energy level, it is used for headaches, migraines, shock, nausea, morning sickness,  helps aid in concentration and mental focus, this color is used as a spiritual force

Violet: this color is about peace, love and concern for others, it is used for earache, neuralgia, paranoia, menopause and mental illness, is used as aphrodisiac and is a sensual color

Blue: this color is relaxing, cool and calming, good to stimulate communication and creativeness, is used for asthma, bruises and burns, earache, allergies, sprains and stiffness, toothaches,  is good to calm and balance the body and mind

Turquoise: encourages interest, is a soothing color, is used for acne, boils and cold sores, fatigue and stress, hay fever and insect stings, it is used to ease tension and anxiety, it is refreshing and stimulating

Green: is the color of the heart chakra, it is a circulatory color that invokes unconditional love, non attachment and security, is used for angina, chest pains, heart disease, ulcers and trauma, it is the color of stability

Yellow: this is the color of intellect and personal power, focuses mental power, it is used for arthritis, rheumatism and stiffness, nervousness and tension, it is the color of lightness and letting go.

Orange: is a cheerful color, is about a happy environment, brings about self assuredness and sufficiency, is used for arthritis, colds, liver disease, rheumatism, stiffness, ulcers, gouts, depression and fatigue, is used to relax the mind and body, is an outgoing energy

Red: this color increases energy and vitality, is about self awareness and a lust for life, is used for anemia, colds and numbness, it is invigorating and activating, it is a vital color

A Visual Technique: image something that is the color of the area you want to focus (i.e. a lemon, for yellow), focus on that image until that is the only thing you see. Color visualization (and meditation of color) is a powerful tool that can help change a mood. It can promote good health by balancing different forces in your life.

In close: the importance of color, to all parts of our lives, is great. Color Therapy is a simple, yet effective, method to help focus your mind, gaining balance and endurance each time you do it.

Have a "Blue" evening.........

GINA GINA Wednesday........cloudy and beautiful

TODAY: a few words........ a positive affirmation

I recognize,  if I don't pay attention to all the moments I am given, this world will move on and do so without me...... if I'm not paying attention, precious moments can sneak up on me fast and then be gone just as quickly.......... if I don't pay attention, I could miss out on the smallest of details of something and maybe the most important detail of what is passing by.......paying attention and opening my eyes and soul to all the moments I am gifted will help me to be in the moment, help me gain deeper experiences and meanings of those moments and give me opportunity to soak them in, for all they have to offer....... if I don't pay attention those moments, they will slip on by me, without me ever really getting the chance to be in them, maybe not even know they existed in the first place..........
I will pay attention to all the precious moments in time I am given, I will treat them with the respect they deserve.......... Life will not pass me by without me experiencing all of it, the good and the other..........

In close: make good use of all your moments in time, they are precious and there is never enough.

Have a beautiful evening.........

GINA GINA Monday........beautiful monday

TODAY: Positive Thinking, there is power......

Positive thinking is a wonderful and easy way to improve yourself, improve your health, manage the stresses of life and ultimately improve both your physical and emotional wellness.

Positive thinking is not not facing the struggles in life, or turning a blind eye to events that need your attention, it is quite the opposite. Positive thinking will help you to achieve balance in your life and face those struggles with a good attitude, an "I can do this" attitude, positive thinking can help you to look a problem straight into  the eye and solve it without having those overwhelming sensations of negativity. Positive thinking is not putting on a smile for the world on the outside and being dark on the inside, it is being bright from the inside out, then that smile for the world comes out naturally, without stressing yourself on a cellular level. We are all constantly tossing thoughts around in our heads, we should make an effort that those thoughts are in a positive format. Even when dealing with unpleasant subjects, they can be made easier if we think of them positively, solutions to problems will come to you easier, if you think about it in a positive manner. Positive thinking is something we can all practice and ultimately become proficient at. Imagine the world if everyone was a "positive thinker".

There are many health benefits that come along with positive thinking, too. We all know "stress kills", positive thinking can help to lower stress levels and lower blood pressure and the heart rate, so in turn this can increase your life. Positive thinking helps to strengthen the immune system, your resistance to catching colds and flus will be increased. It only makes since, too, that if you condition yourself to think in a positive manner, the likeliness of depression is lowered and those feelings of distress won't be able to take hold, positive thinking can lead to better mental and physical well being.

We should all try to keep our minds moving in a positive direction, it's not always easy and sometimes it's down right hard, but in the long run it is so worth it, before you know it, you won't even have to try, you'll just naturally be a positive thinker......

In close: Until you are naturally a "positive thinker", work at it, put your best foot forward, make the effort, life might just get a whole lot easier if you try..........
