My dad: Marine/Ret LtCol Army Charles Cole Grissom - a TOTAL badass!!!
He ran away from home, the first time, at 14, to join the Marines , then 15 and again at 16, finally at 17 my grandparents allowed him to join the Merchant Marines and at 18 the Marine Corp❤️❤️❤️and went to his grave considering himself a Marine, even though after graduating The Citadel and spending well over 20 years as a Nuclear Physicist in the Army… he’d say: “Once a Marine, ALWAYS a Marine”
Growing up, throughout the many trials and tribulations that all children have, he’d tell me “Gina, ALWAYS charge forward”!
I’ve lived my life trying to be like my dad, I’ve always fallen short, but I’ve never stopped trying!
It is imperative we give respect to ALL of our service people and their families! As without them there is no USA 🇺🇸
